The Twilight Movie Cast

The Cullen familyThe characters did a fantastic job in this Twilight movie. Other than the two main people, Bella and Edward, the rest of the Twilight movie cast was right on. They were all fairly decent actors that portrayed their characters well. In my opinion, I thought the characters other than Bella and Edward could have had a bigger part in the movie. They were more background players, so even though I liked them, I didn’t get to know them as well as I would have wanted. These characters could have been developed more. I guess that is the difference between books and movies. A book goes into greater detail of thoughts and feelings. A movie needs to have the cast portrayed by just looking at them.

The best Twilight Movie Cast Member

One of the Twilight movie cast members that I thought was an excellent choice was Ashley Greene (Alice). She was just like I had pictured her from the books. She had lots
of fun personality and seems to be able to play her part well.

twilightI also liked Carlisle and Esme, played by Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser. Carlisle was a littler younger looking than I was expecting but he did a great job in the movie. Esme was very reserved but still had a presence on screen.

The Twilight movie cast members I had the worst time with were Edward and Bella, played by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. It looks like they found two good looking people and thought that was all they needed to pull off a smash hit. I thought neither one had any acting ability. For two people who were supposedly madly in love, I felt no chemistry at all from these two. I was very disappointed by my reaction to them.  But this was my only complaint, albeit a big one, on the casting.

I also thought that they did an excellent job casting James, Laurent and Victoria. These three were excellent villains. I liked the way they were introduced into the movie and the eeriness that surrounded them. The trailer for New Moon looks like it will further acquaint us with all the Twilight movie cast members that didn’t receive a lot of time in Twilight. The whole first movie was mainly focused on Bella and Edward. Hopefully, it will be a better movie for the variation of characters and with the added action.

Until next time,

Twilight: Bella and Edward

Twilight?I am a big fan of Stephenie Meyer’s series, Twilight. Bella and Edward had great chemistry. It was so strong that it came through the pages while I was reading it. The first movie, Twilight, was a little disappointing for me. After building up a picture in my mind from the book, I thought the movie was a let-down in some ways.

The casting was great and I loved all the support players, but I couldn’t get past the lead roles in Twilight. Bella and Edward didn’t fit with the book I had read. Edward seemed to never be sure of himself and I got tired of him always looking down, as if he had no confidence. I thought this was so opposite from the book. He was the strong, independent type who didn’t care what people thought of him. If I had seen him at my school, I wouldn’t have been impressed.

Bella was a little closer to what I pictured but even then, her facial expressions were sadly lacking. I felt her mood was the same throughout the whole movie. Even when she was happy, she seemed little different than when she was upset. I had a very hard time getting into her character and feeling what she was feeling. The whole thought of her being madly in love was, in my opinion, quite unbelievable.

The chemistry was nowhere near what it was in the book. I hope the next movie, New Moon, is done a little better. Since they can’t change the characters now, I hope they at least put a little more effort into their acting and work at having some sort of spark between Bella and Edward. I felt oddly empty after watching this first movie.

My husband watched the second half of the movie with me, and although he also laughed a little at the main characters of Twilight, Bella and Edward, he did think it was better than he thought it would be.

All in all, I thought it was a decent movie but I might have enjoyed it more if there had been no expectations made by reading the books. I don’t know if I care enough to see this one again. I’d rather read the book.

PS. I would love to hear what you think about Bella and Edward!  Do you agree or disagree with my opinion?
