My Journal of Twilight: Edward and Bella
My last journal entry for Twilight, Edward and Bella were just heading back to Bella’s house after there afternoon at Edward’s meadow. This is one of the best parts of the whole book at least so far. In my humble opinion at least!
The ride to Bella’s house.
The ride home was pretty informative. We learn with Bella about Edward and how he came to be who he is — a vampire. We also learn about the rest of the Cullen’s and how they became vampires. Once they get into Bella’s house Edward confesses that he comes to her house every night and watches her sleep. Bella is completely shocked! I honestly think it is sweet! He tells her how she talks in her sleep and he likes to listen. I can only imagine how horrified I would be to hear that the guy you like has been watching you sleep at night and listening to you talk in your sleep.
He tells her what he has he has heard, which includes his name a lot. I think the sweetest moment is when he holds her and says “If I could dream at all. It would be of you…”. Then they are interrupted. What is so funny is how her dad Charlie reacts to her change in mood. He thinks she is going to sneak out with some guy. Little does he know the guy is going to sit in his daughters room!
Bella and Edward at night.
After Bella escapes from her Dad she runs up to her room to find Edward. The first thing she does is look out the window. Of course Edward is already in her room! Bella took the time to shower and get ready for bed. She tries to show Charlie that she will not be leaving. When she gets back to her room Edward is waiting. As Edward touches Bella again, Bella brings up the fact that it seems much easier for him to touch her and be close to her. A lot easier then that morning. Edward says that it was completely mind over matter. He then admits that in the meadow he was undecided still. Okay that was a shock to me when I read that! Edward hadn’t yet decided that he would not kill her?! What the heck!
So there in the twilight Bella and Edward share more of each other. They talk about past situations and continue to enjoy the once forbidden touch. I really like this part because there is such chemistry between the two of them. They innocently touch and cuddle, as much as you can cuddle a stone man! After talking a long time Bella very nervously asks Edward if they would ever be able to make love? He is very against it because of the fact she is so breakable. He could hurt her if he lost control. Bella asks another question of Edward “Well, do you find me attractive, in that way, at all?” He laughed and said “I may not be human, but I am a man,” he assured her. She needed to be reassured by him to know that he was not rejecting her.
Bella sleeps.
She finally fell asleep in the Twilight. Bella and Edward had such a great day together. I think this is the beginning of a relationship that will be tough. I am excited to read more and discover what is in store for them. What kind of storms and bumps in the road are they going to have to weather together. Is Edward going to be able to keep her alive?
I am totally loving this book. I am enjoying being in the mind and heart of Bella.
Until next time,
