Stephenie Meyer is the famed author of the Twilight saga. I found a Stephenie Meyer interview of Stephenie Meyer at a Borders book club from 2008. It was shown on the blog Library Junction. In this book club meeting, Stephenie sits down with women of all ages, as well as girls that love the Twilight series. It shows the variety of fans that she has collected over the years. it is interesting to hear the answers that she has to some of their questions. She’s not the typical author because she never intended to be an author. I appreciate her because she began just as a stay-at-home mom. Check out this Stephenie Meyer interview. Stephenie Meyer has created somewhat of an empire with her books. They have been created into movies, so far, the Twilight movie and the New Moon movie have come out in theaters. At the end of June 2010 in the series Eclipse will be premiering. You can find the Twilight movie on DVD. The DVD of the New Moon movie will be out this month.

The Twilight series books are so popular but do every think much about Stephenie Meyer Twilight creator?  As we wait for the next movie to come out we can read about Stephenie Meyer.  The Book is called Stephenie Meyer: Author of the Twilight Saga by Lisa Rondinelli Albert.  It is interesting to learn about her and the woman behind Edward and Bella!  Here is an interview of Lisa Rondinelli Albert.  She goes into detail about how she gathered all the information about Stephenie Meyer. Twilight was already a favorite of Lisa which made it both easy and hard on her.  In the book there are pictures of Stephenie, even some from her and her prom date.

How did Twilight begin?

Twilight became a phenomenon quickly.  Can you even remember when the Twilight series were not even around.  I can’t!  Here is a great blog post that shows the timeline of Twilight. USA Today has a top Best-Selling Books List for each year.  They have been doing this for sixteen years now.  The 2009 list was just released this week and for the first time ever an author has swept the top four spots.  For 2009 USA Today says the best-selling books were the Twilight series books by Stephenie Meyer!

The Top selling books went in this order:

1. New Moon

2. Eclipse

3. Twilight

4. Breaking Dawn

Not only did Stephenie Meyer do well with the Twilight Series books on this list but her adult fiction book The Host came in 19th!  This is quite an accomplishment and shows how great the books really are!  We sure are lucky that Stephenie had the dream she did one night of a vampire and a girl in a meadow.

USA Today also reported that the Twilight Series accounted for 29% of sales tracked in 2009.  This is the highest in the list history.  Now think about it a little bit here!  The Twilight Series beat out a great favorite among many young adults and adults alike, the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowlings! It has officially become bigger than Harry Potter.  Well at least the books have. (We aren’t comparing the movies right now.)

I am so glad that others are seeing  how great the series is and yes it is not just for tweens and teens!  I am one of those in my 30s that loves the Twilight Series Books.  This list shows that there are a lot of people like me and you who are interested in what happens to Bella Swan and all those she loves!

Yeah for Stephenie Meyer!
