Twilight Saga Series

My Twilight Journal: Sunday with the Cullens

Twilight Low Light (47/365)Before I go into my thoughts about this part of the book, I have to say everyone loves these books it seems.  Have taken the book with me to different appointments I have had and everyone asks me: How do you like it?  Have you see the movie?  Is this the first time you have read it?.  It seems as if everyone has a story to tell about the Twilight saga!  I am amazed with peoples interest in me reading the book!

Last time I left off where in Twilight, Edward and Bella spend Saturday evening together.  If you have missed any of the previous Twilight Journals here are the links:

After a wonderful Saturday together Bella wakes up to see Edward there with her. He had changed his clothes which he had to explain.  They spend the morning together and he takes her to meet his family, the Cullen’s.  Bella is understandably nervous.  Not only is she meeting Edward’s family but they just happen to be all vampires!  When they arrive Bella is pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome she receives.  Especially from Esme!  But what is up with Rosalie?  What is her problem?  I know Edward said she is self-absorbed but really?!

Okay, can Edward be more romantic? He wrote a beautiful song for Bella!  What girl doesn’t want to have a song written for her!  Edward shows her around and gives her a history of Carlisle.  This is very interesting and if I were Bella I would have asked about it long before now!

I think my favorite part of this section is being in Edward’s room. I love how he admits to Bella that he is not only relieved she knows everything but it makes him happy! Also I know Bella was a little frightened by Edward’s playfulness but I loved it!  He was being him and yet he was also helping Bella again understand the seriousness of being with him! I loved how he felt so comfortable that around Alice and Jasper he could show affection to Bella.

Next time I am going to cover the baseball game.  I didn’t want to include that in this post since there is a lot going on during the baseball game!

Until next time,

PS. It is great to see all these scenes acted out in the movie (I haven’t seen it yet, so I am guessing).  Get the Twilight movie in two disc format!

How Many Books are in the Twilight Series?

I am starting a little series for those who come across this blog and don’t know much about the Twilight series.  The first question I will cover is:

How many books are in the Twilight Series?

The Twilight series books which are written by Stephenie Meyer include four books.

Twilight is the very first book written in the Twilight series.  It was published in 2005. It introduces us to Isabella (Bella) Swan and Edward Cullen.  These two teenagers become drawn to each other in more ways then one.

New Moon is the second book in the Twilight series.  New Moon is a time of discovery for Bella and Edward.  Will they be able to stand the test of time?  It all depends on what happens in this book.  Jacob Black and the werewolves are introduced in this book.

Eclipse is the third installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga.  Here Bella must determine how she truly feels about Edward and Jacob.  More trials come when a vampire is out to get Bella.  Here we see a reuniting of the mortal enemies – the Vampires and the Werewolves.

Breaking Dawn is the final book in the Twilight series.  This book is the largest of all the series with almost eight hundred pages!  This book resolves all of the issues that have come up in the whole series.  Will Bella become a vampire?  Will Edward and Bella marry?  What happens to Jacob?  There are many more questions and situations that are resolved in this book!

These are the Twilight series books but Stephenie Meyer has stated that she has never intended it to end at four.  So how many books are in the Twilight series?  These books are all based on Bella Swan’s view.  Stephenie Meyer has said she is done with Bella’s view. She has also stated that she will revisit vampires at a later date!

Best,

My Journal of Twilight: Edward and Bella

Reading...My last journal entry for Twilight, Edward and Bella were just heading back to Bella’s house after there afternoon at Edward’s meadow.  This is one of the best parts of the whole book at least so far.  In my humble opinion at least!

The ride to Bella’s house.

The ride home was pretty informative.  We learn with Bella about Edward and how he came to be who he is — a vampire.  We also learn about the rest of the Cullen’s and how they became vampires.  Once they get into Bella’s house Edward confesses that he comes to her house every night and watches her sleep.  Bella is completely shocked!  I honestly think it is sweet!  He tells her how she talks in her sleep and he likes to listen.  I can only imagine how horrified I would be to hear that the guy you like has been watching you sleep at night and listening to you talk in your sleep. › Continue reading

A Book Written about Stephenie Meyer Twilight Saga Author

Stephenie Meyer bookThe Twilight series books are so popular but do every think much about Stephenie Meyer Twilight creator?  As we wait for the next movie to come out we can read about Stephenie Meyer.  The Book is called Stephenie Meyer: Author of the Twilight Saga by Lisa Rondinelli Albert.  It is interesting to learn about her and the woman behind Edward and Bella!  Here is an interview of Lisa Rondinelli Albert.  She goes into detail about how she gathered all the information about Stephenie Meyer. Twilight was already a favorite of Lisa which made it both easy and hard on her.  In the book there are pictures of Stephenie, even some from her and her prom date. › Continue reading

Twilight Series Books Top the Best-Selling Books List

twilight saga collectionUSA Today has a top Best-Selling Books List for each year.  They have been doing this for sixteen years now.  The 2009 list was just released this week and for the first time ever an author has swept the top four spots.  For 2009 USA Today says the best-selling books were the Twilight series books by Stephenie Meyer!

The Top selling books went in this order:

1. New Moon

2. Eclipse

3. Twilight

4. Breaking Dawn

Not only did Stephenie Meyer do well with the Twilight Series books on this list but her adult fiction book The Host came in 19th!  This is quite an accomplishment and shows how great the books really are!  We sure are lucky that Stephenie had the dream she did one night of a vampire and a girl in a meadow.

USA Today also reported that the Twilight Series accounted for 29% of sales tracked in 2009.  This is the highest in the list history.  Now think about it a little bit here!  The Twilight Series beat out a great favorite among many young adults and adults alike, the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowlings! It has officially become bigger than Harry Potter.  Well at least the books have. (We aren’t comparing the movies right now.)

I am so glad that others are seeing  how great the series is and yes it is not just for tweens and teens!  I am one of those in my 30s that loves the Twilight Series Books.  This list shows that there are a lot of people like me and you who are interested in what happens to Bella Swan and all those she loves!

Yeah for Stephenie Meyer!

Congratulations for this great accomplishment!

To You,

PS. If you have not yet purchased the Twilight Series books you need too!
